Ear phone or Head phone – What’s on your Ears
Today earphones have become a must-have possession for most of the people. People in urban areas are inevitably seen wearing earphones wherever they are. They come in different types and models like in the canal earphones, headphones and the most recent and the advanced ones are ear buds. There are both wired and wireless types and the latter provides a lot of flexibility for working. I am seeing that the wireless are overtaking the wired ones though they are a bit costly. They have almost become a fashion statement for the youth. The youth are always seen wearing these gadgets and doing their work be it travelling, eating, and studying.
I think the best use if these earphones are made when you travel long distances for hours and days. If you are a travel freak, then I promise you that the scenic beauty along with the melodies on the ear phones will take you to trance. Yup, earphones can also lead you to a state of trance and meditation. One could be deeply connected emotionally to these, particularly if they were gifted by near and dear ones.
The other best thing about earphones is the way they are helping out student community. In today’s era where the class rooms from across the globe can be accessed from anyone and anywhere, be it an urban area or a remote rural location, they help a lot in learning. Most lessons are available on digital platforms like YouTube. There are these MOOCs (Massive Online Open Courses) which help in acquisition of knowledge and building of attitude and skills.
Today’s life is almost unimaginable for many people without a headphone with them. One can land up with frustration and irritation if they forget to have it with them when they go out. But, if one could use that time, a good article like this can also come out of one’s thoughts and mind!
Nevertheless, it is not without any ill effects. Any gadget comes with its own hazards and dangers. Earphones when used for long time can cause headache, irritation, lack of concentration and even decreased hearing. From the health point of view, headphones are better than earphones because they cause relatively less acoustic damage. So, these gadgets need to be used sparingly with awareness and paying attention to the time period that we use them daily and loudness of the volume. They can also decrease your perception of the real world. It is advisable to prevent its use among children.
