Every baby and small child has an innate desire and curiosity to explore, learn and acquire skills.

Adults find it so difficult to hold back toddlers who wish to move around all over the place and investigate everything within their reach. They use all their senses to see, listen, touch, taste & smell whatever they come across.

As the child grows older, he is sent to school to get ‘educated’, but all his motivation and desire to learn reduces.  He then has to be forced to listen to the teacher, take notes, do calculations, complete his homework, and ‘mug up’ for exams. Is it the fault of the student, or is it the fault of all of us adults who kill the curiosity and the joy of learning?

Instead of blaming the system or authorities, each one of us can, and should, do our bit to rekindle the spark of learning in any child we interact with, and send him off on a path of growth to become a capable adult.

It’s not difficult.

Confused about what career you’ll eventually be taking up?

Annual exams are over, results have been announced, and admissions are one.  If you have not finalized your long-term career goals you may land up taking admission in a wrong course. This is the time to evaluate your future goals. Keep in mind that once you choose your career, you will probably be working in that field for over 40-50 years.  Hence it is good to start the process of narrowing down, even if you are in 9th or 11th .  Once you decide your career, it becomes easier to select subjects and courses to take you towards your goal.

What course you take e.g. science, commerce or arts, what degree to pursue after 12th and even what post-graduation to take up after degree – all these should be decided based on a careful and scientific evaluation of the combination of interest + aptitude (skills) + personality traits + opportunities.  Do not wait till the last moment when admissions are closing and you need to take immediate decision. Get yourself assessed at Banjara Academy.  We will list out all your traits holistically and once you agree that we have analyzed you correctly, we will list out most suitable careers, and then we will work with you on what courses, colleges, subjects you need to select to take you to the right goal.

Problem  of  Plenty

There is interesting research to show that though we are upset when not given choices, we also get overwhelmed and confused when there are too many choices.

You may have gone to a restaurant which has pages and pages of Menu, and got more and more confused as you kept reading the variety of dishes.  People who want to get married and have too many proposals cannot decide which one to opt for.  If you have too many job offers you tend to take up the wrong one.

Be aware of this human habit, and do not get overwhelmed.

Whenever you have a problem of plenty, break it down to smaller lists, eliminate those which are not very appealing, and practice taking thought-out and evaluated decisions.

Decision making is an important life skill.
