Where Is the Common Man?

Aab does not believe in the stereotype that the rich oppress the poor, the strong suppress the weak, and those in power take advantage of the common man.  In fact, in all his traveling and exploring of humans, Aab is yet to find a “Common” Man.  The beauty of creation lies in the fact that every human is unique.  Aab looks at the miracle of the fingerprint and wonders – 600 crore humans currently on earth, another 1,000 crores have come and gone, but no two fingerprints match! Then where is the common man?

There is such a wealth of emotions, experiences and aspirations in every human being.  Aab is a greedy collector, who keeps scraping out these experiences and emotions, and adds them to his haversack that he always carries on his back.  He is a rolling stone who gathers lots of moss – in the form of human aspirations and frustrations, of relationships built and destroyed.  He watches the celebration of birth, and wonders whether the rejoicing people know that every birth is the announcement of another future death!

Aab knows that poverty does not make a person weak or vulnerable.  And he also knows that wealth and power do not necessarily make a person strong or arrogant.  It is the person’s nature that makes him so.  There are those who live in humility with all their assets and status, and there are those poor ones who steal from those who are even poorer and more miserable.  Like the different fingerprints, each human is a mystery – and Aab loves mysteries.
