Dr. J. Bhavani Ramesh  has a Ph. D. in English specialising in Post Modernism and Existential philosophy. Her M.Phil thesis applied Carl Gustav Jung's Mid-life Crisis theory to the Hindu Married woman. After being a teacher for some years and a Soft Skills Trainer,  she followed her passion of becoming a counsellor. She completed several courses including Banjara's CCS, DCS-01, Louise Hay's Heal Your Life workshop, Neuro Linguistic Programming under Richard McHugh and a Post Graduation in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Dr Bhavani is a qualified counsellor with an NGO, Ashwini Charitable Trust which educates, empowers underprivileged children who live below the poverty line and supports them till they are self-reliant emotionally and financially.

As a counsellor she regularly creates opportunities for the children to express their emotions through Drama, Dance, Painting etc. This is very therapeutic, especially for girls, who are often sidelined for the boys in their families. She also conducts Life skills classes for these children because of these efforts  the children have developed confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, team spirit and higher emotional intelligence. In fact, Dr. Bhavani has written and directed 2  children's plays for public performance by the children of the trust. "The Last Call"  was a futuristic play about the environment.  "Astitva- The Search for Identity"  was based on Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory.
