Who will bring about the change?
Why is it that in so many cases a woman loves her mother but does not like her mother-in-law? These are not questions that came up yesterday, or even in the last century. They have probably been there since time immemorial (except in the days of Adam and Eve, when an extra-marital affair was just not possible because no one else was available – wonder how they enjoyed their monogamy?)
I would like to ask: “When millions of people have spent millennia pondering over the above questions, why do we still not have answers?” My guess is that because somewhere we have not given enough importance to emotions, relationships and behavioral sciences. This has been all the more so in the past three decades when lifestyles have changed, technology has become the driving force, and when social sciences are needed most, they are being neglected. – Ali Khwaja - Life Skills Coach, Counselling Courses Director, Counsellor
